Успешно завершились испытания на совместимость системы терминации кабельных модемов Cisco uBR10012 CMTS с платформой разработки Texas Instruments Puma 5 DOCSIS 3.0 CPE. Решение Cisco uBR10012 CMTS поддерживает функцию объединения исходящих каналов, которая считается важным преимуществом спецификаций CableLabs DOCSIS 3.0 и имеет большое значение для кабельных операторов.

Спецификации DOCSIS 3.0 определяют требования к кабельным модемам, предназначенным для высокоскоростной передачи данных по сетям кабельного телевидения. Функция объединения каналов (channel bonding) заключается в логическом объединении нескольких частотных каналов в единую "трубу" для резкого расширения пропускной способности входящего и исходящего канала с точки зрения конечного пользователя. В результате пропускная способность входящего канала может составить сотни мегабит в секунду с возможностью дальнейшего расширения до нескольких гигабит в секунду.

Испытания на совместимость, проведенные в лабораториях CableLabs, показали, что система Cisco uBR10012 CMTS и платформа Texas Instruments Puma 5 DOCSIS 3.0 CPE могут работать вместе в сети DOCSIS 3.0. Логическое объединение частотных каналов расширяет возможности решения Cisco uBR10012 CMTS.
